The Sift is a dimension, the biggest kind of place Minecraft has. A dimension is a separate world with its own terrain and its own rules. Minecraft Java & Bedrock currently have three: the Overworld, the Nether and the End. The Sift is officially a new one.

It reaches players in two steps. First, it appears in Minecraft Dungeons II on September 29, 2026. Then it comes to Minecraft Java & Bedrock in 2027.

The Overworld, the Nether and the End have been the whole set in that time. • It’s not a biome. The Sift is a whole dimension. Meadows and Carapace are biomes inside it.
